Zero Tolerance Knives and Rick Hinderer team up again to create the new Zero Tolerance 0566. More compact than its larger brothers, the 0560 and 0561, the new 0566 is built for pure performance in an EDC-perfect size.
On the performance end, the blade is premium M390 steel. An amazingly pure steel, the 0566’s blade can be sharpened to hair-popping levels—and also offers excellent edge retention, strength, and toughness. The front scale is premium carbon fiber, while the back is all stainless steel with a sturdy frame lock and lockbar stabilizer. The 0566 offers Zero Tolerance's quad-mounting system so users can choose tip-up/tip-down, left- or right-handed carry. And because it's a deep-carry clip, the knife will sit comfortably deep in the pocket.
For Rick Hinderer style in an easy-carry size, the new 0566 in Carbon Fiber & M390 fits the bill.

This was my first ZT and first purchase from KSF. I've been a longtime user of the BM Grip/MiniGrip Doug Ritter variants but wanted something a bit "dressier" without being fancy. This knife fits the bill perfectly. The design is clean, sharp, and techno without any unnecessary ornamentation or bits and pieces. It looks and feels purpose-built.
The carbon fiber is solid and substantial and the steel frame even moreso. As noted in other reviews, the opening action is quite tight and I'm still working it in. The action is solid and positive and I hope that it will get slicker as the ball bearing breaks in.
The clip is the one part of the design that feels underbuilt for the knife. A little too narrow, too soft. I would have preferred a more substantial clip to match the mass of the knife. All the edges and corners of the unit are nicely radiused and relieved, not a sharp or rough edge anywhere to be found...high quality and attention to detail well appreciated.
My only disappointment, and really only a small one, is that the blade came from the factory far from sharp. I could glide it across a finger tip without cutting skin. This was below expectation. However, I planned to reprofile the blade anyway. After about 90 minutes and a series of 6 stones on my EdgePro Apex and I had a solid 18-degree/side edge. A bunch of passes with diamond slurry and I had one MEAN mirror polish edge. M390, as you'll find, is an excellent, high performing steel. Just be advised that if you're planning to do any serious edge work, keep your stones clean and just keep at it...it is some rugged stuff.
Overall, an excellent knife and a very good value for the great quality.

First of all let me say a great big thank you to Knives Ship Free! I get emails from you guys every week and now I'm so glad! The email concerning this knife stopped me in my tracks. I've been looking at Zero Tolerance for a long time. Never could make my mind up, until now. This knife has completely blown me away! I've always wanted a ZT and now I have the perfect one for me. The fit and finish is immaculate! Absolutely perfect! It's not too big and not too small in hand. I have very large hands and it feels great! The carbon fiber is a true slab, not a laminate look a like. The blade grind and shape is just beautiful! It was pretty tight when I got it, but now it's running like a champ! Getting smoother every day. I can't put it down! I have other folders that are very nice and I love them. But this one takes the cake! Very deep carry pocket clip that is perfect! I know not everybody is alike and others will have their own opinions of this knife. But in my opinion, it's perfect for me. I don't know what else to say, but mad props to ZT and to Knives Ship Free!
