This sophisticated ZT is a smaller option in the ZT family, yet offers a robust combination of durable, premium-quality materials. The blade steel is S35VN for exceptional toughness, wear resistance, and edge retention. The S35VN blade is DLC coated for matte-black good looks and enhanced performance. The front handle scale is carbon fiber, balancing the knife’s solid construction with lightweight convenience. The DLC-coated titanium back handle offers a secure frame lock—so you can always cut with confidence.
As an extra visual touch, ZT has added two emerald-green anodized-aluminum tube spacers that are especially eye-catching, standing out against the black handle. The 0450CF takes advantage of ZT’s KVT ball-bearing system to enable smooth, easy opening for either left- or right-handed users. A left/right reversible pocketclip rounds out the 0452CF’s basic feature set.
While it’s a smaller, more gentlemanly knife, the 0450CF proudly lives up to the overbuilt standards for which ZT is well known.

A little more chatter than the 0450, but still excellent.
The primary difference in the CF model over the all Ti 0450 is the (slightly) increased chatter due to the texture of DLC coating coupled with the resonance of Carbon Fiber texture over Titanium. The CF scale has a great raw feel to it for added grip, but in turn audibly reflects this texture with skin contact. Flicking the knife exhibits chatter for similar reasons, caused by the detent ball creating a somewhat dry sound over the DLC coating which reflects off the Ti scale, resonated by the opposing CF scale. These points are for obsessive knife nuts like myself, curious about the interplay of materials, and in no way detracts from my appraisal of the knife itself - which is excellent! This 0450CF has replaced my 0450 for being more subtle in the business environment.

Awesome knife!
My ZT450CF arrived today and I am very impressed. The fit and finish is outstanding, every detail is perfect. The knife is very light, the lock side is black titanium and the other side is unlined carbon fiber. The carbon fiber texture is very nice, not too slick and the edges are finished nicely. The ergonomics are great for a smaller knife, I have larger hands but the handle shape and finger grove give a good solid purchase, my pinky wraps around the butt of the handle but doesn't feel like it's hanging off. The black coating on the blade is a nice matte finish. The blade is thin but long enough to feel more substantial than you would think. Lock up is rock solid with no play in any direction, and the lock releases with no sticking. The flipper action is perfect with a nice detent, I can't get it to not lock open when flipped. Overall I am very happy with this purchase, it is a great value for the price and feels like a much more expensive knife. I highly recommend.
