Time for an upgrade!
These custom Micarta handle scales -- available exclusively from KnivesShipFree -- have been machined specifically for the full-size Benchmade Griptilian and are a direct replacement for the original Noryl GTX handles. They'll completely change the way your knife looks and feels.
All of the hardware you'll need is included. These replacement handle scales fit all full-size Benchmade Griptilian models (550, 551, 553).
Specifications:
- Weight: 5.1oz (original Benchmade scales weigh 3.76oz)
- Handle Thickness: 19.2mm (original Benchmade scales are 16.25mm thick)
- Silver hardware
Installation
It's easy to install these upgraded handle scales on your Benchmade Griptilian. The only tools you'll need are three Torx bits (T6, T8 and T10, all of which are available in the Benchmade Blue Box Toolkit).

Micarta Griptillian scales. Awesome!
I was hesitant to purchase these for some time because they were a bit pricey (almost as much as the knife itself), but I finally pulled the trigger. I am not disappointed in the least. I like the Griptillian, it’s a nice knife, but I never really liked the way the factory GFN scales made the knife feel (rather cheap, imho). After installing these new scales I was truly amazed at how much better the overall feel of the knife is. This is absolutely what this model (Griptillian) needs. My “nice” knife has been transformed into a GREAT knife. I love the way it feels in hand now. If you can get past the price issue, go for it. I’m sure you’ll share in my sentiment. I plan on buying a set for my other Griptillian as well. Great product! Thanks, KSF.
