Bark River Knives: Liten Bror
15th May 2014
We asked Mike Stewart of Bark River Knives about their Liten Bror Bushcraft Knife:
The Liten Bror is actually the “Little Brother” of the Aurora. It is a smaller version with all of the features of the Aurora. The blade is a little thinner because it is a smaller knife. It maintains the nice handle contour which is more than enough to keep a secure grip but not enough to give you hot spots.
We have chosen to do what we call a “Convex Scandi Grind”” The grind excels in that you have a finer edge for wood working, but the real point is that when you are batoning and splitting wood forces the wood apart more quickly. This means you use less effort when making kindling.
For normal use, by the design of the knife, you can put your thumb on top of the blade and put a lot of pressure on the knife.
The knife is made of the steel CPM3V - it is the only steel this knife has been made in. The steel has a lot of side pressure strength. It also has a lot of edge holding.
Made in about eighty-five handle materials.
