KnivesShipFree Double Sided Strop with Compounds

This is a set of 2 official Bark River custom formulated bars of stropping compound AND one of our own Leather Strop Hones.

This is everything you need to keep your Bark River Knife hair popping sharp.

The KSF Leather two sided leather strop is perfect for maintaining any convex blade.  With leather on both sides, you can charge each side with a different abrasive sharpening compound to fit your needs.

This is the handiest hone I own.  The handle allows me to sharpen my knives safely and convieniently anywhere.

The specially treated leather takes compound very well (like all of the leather hones on our site).  Unlike standard, untreated leather, there is no need for solvents or heat to effectively spread the compound.  Just use the compound like a crayon and cover the leather with copound and start sharpening!

The leather is 2" wide and 8" long and the OAL is 12".

KSF Double Sided Hone W/ Compound

Posted by Railroader on 4th May 2020

A great product and well designed. Takes a little while to get the hang, of how to use the 2 compounds, and how much compound to use. My only minor complaint is the Paper Instructions did not come with my Kit. The instructions that are shown in the picture to the Left. I'm old school- I just like paper instructions. I never got 'em. The video is good though, and thanks for that.

Love this strop kit, I’ve been using mine for 3 years now, it has held up great and I’m not even halfway through my compound!

    Fantastic

I was a bit skeptical about the stropping on leather concept but this thing works exactly as advertised. I wish I'd bought it years ago. I am no knife sharpening guru but this allowed me to restore the factory edge on some Bark Rivers in just a couple of minutes. Also KSF has the world's fastest free shipping, It made it from Michigan to Texas in under 48 hours.

What have I been doing for all these years?!

Posted by James B. on 23rd Aug 2016

I've been hearing about how great of an edge you can get by finishing with a strop for years. I just got mine in and after putting a fantastic edge on the first knife I tried I went through and did the rest of my collection. I can't believe I wasted my time with merely acceptable results from my sharpmaker. I couldn't be happier with the edge on my knives now. BR/KSF Strop is quality and they give you a massive amount of compound. I just followed the videos linked on this site and I was ready to go. I'm really satisfied with the product, easily some of the best knife money I've spent.

    Great Deal Great Product

Posted by Mike Bayer on 24th May 2015

I've been free hand sharpening for about three years now and have learned the importance of a good honing/stropping system. I've purchased several and nothing compares to this great two sided leather strop. I was pleasantly surprised at the thickness and quality of the leather. I've got several others from other dealers and makers and none are of this quality. Also the compound sticks are bigger than others I've order. Like I said, this is one great buy that will enhance your knife sharping.

    Strop definitely makes a difference

I ordered this strop kit to keep my Bark River knives nice and sharp. I watched the videos on sharpening convex edges and went to work. Bark Rivers come sharp from the factory, however I was able to get them even sharper just using the fine (green) compound. The strop itself is sturdy and perfectly sized for easy sharpening. One benefit: I used this strop to finish sharpening my edc Spyderco Delica (FFG) and it put it above and beyond how sharp I could get it using only the Spyderco Sharpmaker alone. For less than $45, this is a best buy to get all blades hair popping sharp.
