Zero Tolerance: ZT0470 Sinkevich Flipper - Titanium & Marbled Carbon Fiber - CPM-20CV
This handsome new design from ZT and Dmitry Sinkevich begs to take pride of place in your collection. Not that the 0470 is a safe queen. Far from it. It’s a highly practical, easy-to-EDC design that handles a wide range of tasks and looks good doing it.
The blade is CPM 20CV high-chromium stainless steel. This powdered metallurgy tool steel has a high volume of vanadium carbides for exceptional wear resistance and a truly long-lasting edge. The highest level of chromium of any high-vanadium steel gives it excellent corrosion resistance as well. The two-tone, satin-and-stonewashed blade finish looks handsome, while our KVT ball-bearing opening and a flipper makes the knife fast and easy to open.
The 0470’s handle is titanium with an eye-catching marbled carbon fiber insert. Instead of a formal “weave” as in standard carbon fiber sheets, for our “marbled” insert, the carbon fibers are dropped randomly onto the plate. Then resin is added to secure the fibers and produce a smooth surface. ZT leaves ours with a matte finish for an intriguing and sophisticated look. A titanium clip and a black anodized-aluminum backspacer complete the look of this refined pocketknife.

The Zero Tolerance catalog is loaded with collaborations that bring custom designs to the customer at a production price point. The ZT 0470 does not disappoint. Introduced at Blade Show 2018, this eye-catching knife is the product of ZT’s joint efforts with award-winning designer Dmitry Sinkevich. The 0470 is based on Sinkevich's W model. It is terrific for your everyday carry tasks and it looks so good, you just might be tempted to put it in your display case when it’s not riding around in your pocket.
The blade of the ZT 0470 is CPM 20CV high-chromium stainless steel. This steel makes the knife highly wear resistant and allows it to retain a long-lasting edge. It has great corrosion-resistant qualities so that you’ll have a low-maintenance experience. The blade stock is durable at .12” thick and carries a Rockwell hardness of 59-61.
The blade is flipper deployed and is held in place by the titanium framelock with a hardened steel lockbar insert. The lock face will last for ages and can be replaced by ZT should it ever need serviced. The KVT ball-bearing pivot and perfectly placed flipper tab make the deployment buttery smooth every time.
The handle is what really makes the ZT 0470 unique. It features a marbled carbon inlay set within a milled titanium handle. The smooth finish allows the knife to slide in and out of your pocket without any snagging. The titanium tip-up pocket clip is angled so that it doesn’t rest against the lockbar and add extra pressure. The clip can be installed on the right or left side.
The ZT 0470 is so sleek looking you might mistake it for a knife that is too pretty to be much use. Not to worry though, it will stand up to any EDC task you give it.
The ZT 0470 is one refined pocket knife and has a quality that will last a lifetime. Sinkevich has designed some of the best blades on the market today, and this one is no exception. It is made in the USA at the Zero Tolerance factory in Oregon, and it certainly maintains the high standards that people come to expect from the Zero Tolerance brand.
I really like the size of this knife, a little more EDC friendly than an 0452 or 0562. Perfect centering and super smooth action like you'd expect from a ZT, even with the thinner blade stock than usual. The marbled carbon fiber is a nice change of pace and has a nice look and feel. There's nothing I'd change about this knife.
