Helle Knives: Skog
"Skog" is Scandinavian for "forest", and this knife was named with that atmosphere in mind - sitting around a campfire in the woods with a piece of greenwood in one hand and your carving knife in the other. Built to be more robust than your average carving knife, the Skog can help tackle versatile camping tasks in spite of its compact size. The handle is nicely contoured and has a slight finger notch at the front to help add security. The blade is short enough to maintain absolute control during carving, fashioned from triple-laminated stainless steel with a Scandi grind. The knife comes with a leather belt sheath.

Helle Skog 2.9" Beechwood Forest Knife
Bought this a few months ago. It has grown on me- it is the most "basic" knife I've ever owned, like the one my Dad gave me, when i was 10. No frills- just a good forest knife. Like the characters might use, in a Miyazaki animation. Some here might relate to that comment. See: Ronja the Robber's Daughter. Knives are very important, in that Story. Thanks to Helle/Norway for keeping these Old Knife Ways alive. The only mod I did was= treat the Handle with a high grade Linseed oil and careful sharpening, of course.
