All my other pocket knives are jealous

Posted by Dan Rosenfeld on 13th Dec 2014

I've had this knife in my pocket every day for a few years now. Really. I feel I can give it an actual hands-on review. tl;dr; Get this knife, you'll love it! I work indoors and not in any setting a knife would be used for anything but opening boxes or slicing a bagel. I do go fishing, camping and paddling. I don't baby my knives, but I don't use my pocket knife for stabbing, throwing or chopping. I've used this knife for everything from slicing the aforementioned bagels to cutting 20-22 gauge coated wire to opening clams at the Outer Banks. With the pocket clip all the way at the end of the handle, it fits deep in my pocket. Being tip down, even if the knife starts to open in my pocket, my fingers won't touch any sharp parts reaching in. The blade has a smooth, predictable assist that is as accurate today as when I first got it. The liner lock is still tight and the blade doesn't rattle when its open. It is a bit loose at the joint, but I've never felt the need to adjust it since owning it. The other end has a triangular bit of the steel liner sticking out as if to function as a glass-breaker, I presume. It makes a perfect bottle opener with the closed knife angled over the knuckle. I can shoot a bottle cap across the room. no lie. The black blade feels almost like it has a powder coating, but thinner. Not as thin as paint, though. It doesn't get scarred with normal use, but it can be scratched off, using it for things like opening clams. The blade itself keeps a very good edge and I've only felt the need to sharpen it a few times. The handle on the knife is very smooth and its interesting to look at. The contours fit my hand nicely, and the thumb assist and liner lock are ergonomically placed. Even the pocket clip has an indent that seems to be made for my middle finger when holding the knife while open or closed. The back of the knife has some interesting toothy details that add to the overall style of warm stainless steel, black G10 and black metal. I have 4-5 other pocket knives I use for specific purposes, but this one is my favorite 'Every Day Carry'.
