After many requests for a larger version of Dan's Bushcraft knife, he came up with the BushMaster.

10″ long overall with a 5″ blade and 5″ handle – it is probably the most capable knife he makes. Dan started this knife in 2008 and it has been a consistent seller with amazing feedback. Much care was put into getting the balance just right.  The handles use a 1/4″ thick material because it is taller than the bushcraft knife and has a little more palm swell. This knife features a full flat grind with a larger/deeper set of thumbgrooves. Corby pins and a lanyard tube keep the handle on tight and make this a nearly indestructible knife. Feel free to work this knife as hard as you want. Break it? Dan’ll replace it free of charge.

Ships with a fantastic KSF Pacific Leather Sheath. Our gift with the knife!

Blade Specs:

5″ of 3V steel, hardened to 59-60 HRc, 0.22″ thick, Flat grind, Brushed finish on flats, satin-finish on grind, small guard, thumbgrooves, spine rounded at handle front

Handle Specs:

5″ long, made from 1/4″ thick handle material, aluminum corby pins and lanyard tube

All synthetic handles (Micarta, G10, etc) are heavily sandblasted for a super grippy better-when-wet finish

All natural materials are handsanded to 600 grit and then handrubbed with Briwax

    a bushcrafting beast

This was the first custom knife from Dan Koster I've owned, and it won't be my last. The bushmaster has outperformed all my production bushcraft knives at every turn. It batons, chops, drills and peels bark with ease, while still being able to perform finer tasks like making fuzz sticks, whittling, and planing. Even though the knife blade is .22 in thick it has a fine edge and with some work (3v can be a bear to sharpen) I got it shaving sharp. The edge lasts forever. I was trying to dull it and I ran out of wood before there was any change to the mirror polished, screaming sharp edge. It doesn't get much better than this knife.
