    King of the beasts

I drove down to KSF this past Saturday because I've been eyeing this beauty for a few weeks and wanted to get my hands on one. Am I ever glad that I did. This is one knife that needs to be held to be truly appreciated. I haven't been able to put it down since last Saturday and find myself opening/closing and enjoying the extremely smooth action. I am also enjoying the super solid lock up and almost fixed blade feel as I use it to cut, whittle and carve whatever I can. I've even carved feather sticks for the fire pit, whittled out some 'wands' for my daughter and her friends as well as opening packages and subduing various cardboard boxes. This thing cuts as well as my Sebenza 25 and maybe even a just a bit better. One thing is for certain, the Sebenza almost feels like a toy compared to the Gorgon in my hand and that's saying something as the Sebenza is without a doubt an incredibly stout knife. I would have gladly carried this with me on my deployments to Iraq and although a bit pricey would recommend this knife to my fellow blade enthusiasts still on active duty to check it out. My only concern is clip retention in my pocket. At 6.9 oz it is a bit heavy and tends to slide out of my pockets quite easily. The clip is not as tight as some and there is no texturing on the titanium slab on the lock side to aid in pocket retention. As such my Sebenza still dominates RFP while the Gorgon rides deep pocket on the left. Once I figure out how best to address retention I will switch them out. If this knife interests you give it a serious look. If you can, get one in your hands.
