The original Zero Tolerance 0454 was an award-winning collaboration between ZT and custom knife designer Dmitry Sinkevich. But it was also a very Limited Edition knife.

So ZT is doing something about that with the new 0450. While based on the original’s streamlined form and high-performance function, this new and more compact version will be much more readily available. With its 3.25-inch blade and lightweight-yet-stronger-than-steel titanium handles, the 0450 has a sleek and sophisticated look that, we think, makes it a perfect EDC.

ZT built it with an S35VN stainless blade that sharpens to a razor edge, holds it well, and can be resharpened easily. The knife opens smoothly and easily with the KVT ball-bearing opening system and built-in flipper. A titanium frame lock with hardened steel lockbar insert ensures solid lock up. Polished pivot hardware just adds to the 0450's refined good looks.

    Close to EDC Perfection

Posted by Gearhead on 19th Nov 2015

See my review on the ZT0452. All the stuff I said in that review applies here. Fits the hand very nicely. Beautiful grind on the blade. Fit and finish are excellent. Love the red standoffs! I usually choose a larger knife for EDC but I just find this one in my pocket a lot. Pocket clip is excellent. It doesn't need to be deep carry, especially ona knife this size. I like deep carry pocket clips but they can make it a little harder to get the knife out of the pocket. Flips like a rocket... as long as you keep your finger off of the lock bar. Actually, that's the one thing I have against this knife. I had to train my index finger to move back and rest on the pocket clip while flipping, otherwise this thing is hard to get open. I think ZT could change the detent pocket in the blade. It appears to be a straight sided hole that was dug out by an endmill. I won't remove a star though. It only took a minute to figure out how best to open it, but I definitely think it's worth mentioning.
