Zero Tolerance: ZT0055 - SLT Titanium Flipper - Cecchini Design - S35Vn

The Zero Tolerance 0055 is unlike anything you’ve ever seen—unless you’ve seen the exciting Airborne folder by Gus T. Cecchini of GTC Knives. And while the Airborne was where we started, the ZT-GTC collaboration took off from there.

The result is the new 0055, which offers dramatic aerodynamic lines on both blade and handle and ZT’s meticulous precision build. The dynamic blade is S35VN stainless steel, a formula that provides enhanced toughness and resistance to edge chipping with no loss of wear resistance. It is rich in niobium, vanadium, and chromium carbides and ensures the 0055 has a sharp, long-lasting edge.

The handles are 3D machined titanium with a titanium frame lock and hardened steel lockbar insert. The custom backspacer is anodized aluminum in bright sky blue.

And yes, the 0055 features Gus' SLT hidden flipper tab. While the knife is closed, the flipper is concealed. When you’re ready to open it, pull back on the SLT. A spring flips the tab up into position. Then just pull back on the tab and the 0055 opens just like any other ZT. The hidden SLT ensures there’s no flipper tab poking up along the spine or beneath the handle to interrupt the sleek lines of the 0055. The 0055’s blade glides out of the handle on ZT’s KVT ball-bearing system, ready for use. The action is similar to a two-stage rifle trigger and is completely addicting.

To complete this exemplary knife, we added a left/right reversible bent titanium clip.

I am a retired Marine Corps O369/0321. Anyone who doesn't take advantage of the deal on this ZT0055 is doing themself a serious misjustice. The compound blade is extremely unique & the SLT starts off strange and then morphs into excellence. To own such a well made knife designed by GLT at this price is something I could not pass up. Will I put it in my EDC rotation...yes, will I anodize one half of the scales to make it my own...yes, This is my 1st ZT and it's built like a tank. If you DON'T like constantly fiddling with a cool knife, DON'T purchase this one. .....addicting. I would like to add that I have read many reviews as well as videos regarding this blade. People that believe they can make this knife sharper than it comes are dillusional at best. This knife is a 3.75 " razor blade with wonderful premium steel.

    Successful design and effortless handling

This knife was a great accomplishment in design and function. The hidden flipper took some time for me to master, however since receiving this knife I am greatly proud to have it among my EDC knives.

When I first handled and operated this retractable flipper I began giggling with joy! The flipping motion almost feels like it is assisted, very quick with solid lock up. Carrying my new Cecchini in jeans or shorts was also a pleasure due to the retracted flipper and it’s smooth outer milling. Also the 0055’s lock bar is a bit more pronounced for easier closing then my other 9 ZT’s (except the 0909). The knife really is a work of art and when open is visually stunning. Performance wise I’ve cut cardboard, carrots, rope and made fuzz sticks for camping with zero problems. I thought I would have with the two separate angled edges but it was again a pleasure to use. This airborne still feels and performs solid and razor sharp. However I’m not sure what problems I may encounter when it comes time to sharpen her. Thank you ZT for letting we minions get our hands on a custom knife at affordable prices.
