    What a knife!

Posted by Blake Hall on 28th Feb 2018

I am really surprised that there are not any reviews on this knife. This was my first Lon Humphrey knife. I have bought another since and plan to buy more for myself and as gifts. I have bought well over 100 knives in my life, most for gifts. This knife is absolutely the best quality, best looking and from my research the most durable knife made! Certainly all of those in what I own and have purchased! Watch some of Lon's YouTube videos. You will be amazed! This will most likely cost me money down the road, but Humphrey knives are under-priced based on the quality. You can buy knives on this website and others that cost well over $600 that are just aok knives. Actually most of those $600 plus knives are just not that impressive! Lon's knives are not only a work of art, they are made with so much attention to detail that I think these, that I have bought, will be heirlooms for several generations. In fact, I think I have decided to stop buying cheaper knives and will focus my attention to these super-high-quality knives. (I really like folders and Lon can you start making some folders? Please) Details: The handle is so smooth and wonderful to hold (watch his videos about how he cure'e the wood) The edge is dangerous if you are an idiot! It is so sharp! The knife steel is the hardest you can find! (Lon says that it is unbreakable!) These knives are hand forged and leaving those hammer marking on the knife is actually very handsome and shows it's history! The balance is amazing! I do not understand how Lon does this, but you can tell that he includes balance in the design and manufacturing process! All of Lon's knives are made by him and his wife. His wife does the handles! The handles are exceptional! And this means that his quality control is either pillow talk or breakfast discussions! The quality is exceptional! There are several small unique characteristics on his knives! My specific knife has red liners next to the tang between the wood and the steel. WOW! The sheaths are extra high quality! Again I emphasize that these knives are under-priced for their quality! So if you want a working knife that you cannot break... or if you want a knife to had down to your children or grandchildren.... buy one! You will not be disappointed!!!
