This a great little knife! I bought it to use in the shop and so far it's been great for opening boxes, cutting paracord, trimming wood bits and other misc shop tasks.
I bought this knife because I wanted my first GEC #15 to be a user in stainless. I had planned on removing the bail immediately which is easy to do. I decided to keep it on shortly after handling it for the first time because 1 -it is useful and 2- it is well, just fun to use.
Make a loop with any handy cord and it goes on-AND off the knife in seconds when using near water or if you just want to attach to picnic bag or a belt for active use - an advantage over smaller lanyard holes on most knives. The easy open cut out becomes a great finger grove while holding the knife in several positions and the bail acts to extend the grip with no lanyard attached or to fold out of the way.
The blade shape is great for cutting food, cardboard and especially those plastic bubble wrapped items that can be tricky with a pointed blade. The downward angle of the blade from the bolster is better for these tasks than a regular sheepsfoot #15 IMHO.
This is a great user that is fun to use!
