The KSF Pocket sheath was designed as an elegant--wallet-like--sheath with the capability to carry a small knife and another essential item.
We started with a slot for a Military Firesteel or Space Pen and expanded the design to the Adirondack Model with a large pocket beside the knife sheath in response to the call for more room and versatility--specifically for a CR123 LED Flashlight.
I've been convinced that we were missing another purpose that requires a different sheath, it took almost an entire year for the concept to mature but it looks like we're finally ready.
Here it is...
The idea is based on actual use in the field.
When hunting in the cold, we usually wear a long jacket which extends down past the waistline in order to maintain more body heat.
This creates a problem because when we need our knife it's usually on the belt which is inside the coat. That's inconvenient and it gets cold when you open your coat to get your knife.
Hunting in heavy cover is yet another problem for carrying your knife on the belt. You want to be relatively quiet when moving about in the woods and already have full hands with the rifle or shotgun. A knife on your belt is anxiously waiting to snag every branch and tangle as you walk by.
The other issue with hunting is early arrival and late departure. For that, we need a flashlight, so we figured it would be nice to carry it along with your knife. Everything you need in one package. We designed it so it would hold a variety of CR123 LED flashlights like we carry elsewhere on the website.
So we needed a solution.
Here it is....
The Hunter's Pocket Sheath is a first rate sheath made by Sharpshooter Sheath Systems.
This sheath is 1 1/4” longer and 1/2” wider than the Adirondack providing room for you to carry a full size knife and whatever you choose to put in the generous pocket from a CR123 Flashlight, folding knife, match safe, lighter or a combination of essential items.
The loaded sheath is designed to perfectly fit into the pocket of a hunting jacket or day pack, giving you a way to carry your knife in a convenient location, secure and out of the way.
