Knives that are shaped like legs go back, believe it or not, 1800 years. In the last couple century, they were primarily advertising gimics. In 2011, Great Eastern Cutlery released their version of the Leg Knife called the "French Kate." They have done it in GEC quality, like you would expect, and that makes them the highest quality leg knives I have ever handled.
Of course, like all Great Eastern Knives, the GEC brand is in 440c and Northfield and Tidioute are 1095.
