When the original Gunny came out, it was a runaway seller. It was so popular as an EDC that people soon began asking for a stainless version of the knife. This is that knife.
When KnivesShipFree asked Mike Stewart of Bark River to make the Gunny's we asked him to pick the very best steel for the job. He chose Sandvik Steel's 19c27. With his magical, proprietary heat treat, he is able to make this steel really perform. It was so tough that the company that does the surface grinding had to buy custom new wheels just to take them down to the right thickness. I think you will be pleased.
The Stainless Gunny is the latest addition to Bark River Knife and Tool's Search & Rescue Series. It joins the Larger Bravo-II and Bravo-1 in this series.
The Gunny is a smaller version of the Bravo-1 that Bark River Developed for the Force Recon Units of the U.S. Marine Corp. This scaled down version is designed to be as rugged and as useful but in a smaller--easier to carry package. The knife easily makes the Crossover from Military use to civilian use and is an excellent choice for a smaller all around hiking & camping knife.
The Gunny Handle Scales are Contoured in the same style as the larger Bravo-1 and 2.
It is one of the most versatile knives in our line.
The Gunny is supplied with the New "Sur-Loc" Leather Sheath.
Here is the Gunny in it's Sharpshooter Sheath Systems sheath. (Pictured is a left hand sheath, but the knife ships with a right hand)
