The Bark River Rogue is our version of the First Real Bowie Knives made in this country. The period was 1827 and the place was Natchez Mississippi. The Very Time and Place that Jim Bowie came into world Prominence for his Rough Fight on the Vandallia Sandbar. The Sandbar was just south of Natchez Mississippi and local Blacksmiths began to answer the Request for " A Knife Like Bowies". The Rogue is done in the Early Natchez Style and ours is sized from an vintage Example in the Arkansas State Museum that has been credited to early Bowie Maker James Black. The Rogue is all Knife and works for any modern usage of a 7 inch large knife. History and Practicality--all in one package.
